Injectable Solution
For Veterinary Use
Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
Tripelennamine HCl: 20 mg (equivalent to 17.5 mg Tripelennamine base).
Properties:

Tripelennamine HCl is an ethylenediamine-derivative antihistamine (H1 receptor antagonist).

Antihistamine (H1 receptor antagonist) competitively inhibits histamine at H1 receptor sites.

It does not inactivate or prevent the release of histamine.

It prevents the histamine action on the cell.

Also Tripelennamine has a moderate stimulant activity and minimal anti-cholinergic activity.
Indications:
Antihistaminics are used to reduce or help prevent histamine mediated adverse effects. Tripelennamine has been used as CNS stimulant in “Downer cows” when administered slow IV.
Target species:
Cattle and horses
Dosage & administration:
Cattle & Horses: 2.5 ml / 45 kg B.Wt.
Treatment may be repeated in 6-12 hours if necessary.
It administered: Warm the solution near to the body temperature
In Cattle: by IV (for rapid action) or IM
In Horses: by IM only.
Warnings & Precautions:
- Central nervous system stimulation in the form of hyperexcitability, nervousness, and muscle tremors lasting up to 20 minutes have been noted in horses, particularly following I.V.I. , only the intramuscular route should be used in horses.
- Over-dosage may give rise to excitement, ataxia, and convulsions.
- Depression of the central nervous system and in-coordination may occur when the drug is used at therapeutic dose levels.
- Disturbances in gastrointestinal function may occur in some instances.
- While poisonous snake bites have been treated with antihistaminic drugs, other conjunctive therapy is required because of toxic reactions associated with the protein complex of venom.
- Do not use in horses intended for food purposes.
Contra-indication:
Don’t administer Tripelennamine IV in horses.

Withdrawal periods
Cattle:
Meat: 4 days
Milk: 24 hours.
